The chose to cut loose five players at the non-tender deadline, not offering contracts to shortstop Ángel Berroa and pitchers Takashi Saito, Scott Proctor, Yhency Brazoban, and Mario Alvarez.This doesn't mean the end of these players in Dodger Blue, as they now become free agents and can still be resigned. They can, however, also be signed by other teams.
