The Dodgers go down in a back in forth game to lose their third in a row and fall to two games back of the Diamondbacks.
Doug Waechter got the win, he's 1-2. Ramon Troncoso lost, he's 0-1. Kevin Gregg got his 20th save.
Hiroki Kuroda went 6 and 2/3 innings in his worst start since coming off the DL. He gave up three runs on seven hits and a walk. 
The Dodger bullpen shut down the Marlins the rest of the way until Troncoso gave up two runs in the 11th.
The Dodger offense continued to struggle meanwhile. After loading the bases with nobody out in the 1st, the Dodgers were only able to score one run. They continued to struggle getting timely hits throughout the rest of the game, the only other two runs they scored coming from solo homeruns, one by Matt Kemp, one by Andre Ethier. The 3-6 hitters went a combined 1-19, with a walk, and six strikeouts (five by Andruw Jones to tie a Dodger record).
The Dodgers will try to avoid the sweep tomorrow at 1:10 L.A. time in their last game before the All-Star break.
The Dodgers offense was shut down for most of the game and go down for the second straight game to the Marlins.
Chris Volstad got the win, he's 2-0. Eric Stults took the loss, he's 2-2. Kevin Gregg picked up his 19th save.
Eric Stults got into trouble earlier, giving up three runs in the first inning on two homeruns but settled down and kept the Marlins scoreless over the next five. Cory Wade pitched two scoreless innings and Brian Falkenborg pitched a scoreless 9th to keep the Marlins offense to three runs.
The offense of the Dodgers, however, was held in check by Chris Volstad, making his first career starts. Volstad held the Dodgers to one run on five hits and a walk, while striking out six. The rallied for one run in the 9th and Jeff Kent sent a ball to the warning track with a chance to tie the game, but the ball didn't have enough power to go out, and the Dodgers fell short.
The Dodgers have two more games to salvage a split with the Marlins in this series, but despite falling to three games below .500, they still remain a game back in the standings as Arizona lost today. With today's loss, the Dodgers are assured of entering the All-Star break with a sub-.500 record.
The Dodgers played two hours longer than the previous game only to go down in extra innings to the Marlins.
Joe Nelson got the win, he's 2-0. Brian Falkenborg took the loss, he's 1-2. Kevin Gregg picked up his 18th save.
The starting pitching for the Dodgers faltered today. Chan Ho Park giving up four runs (three earned) on nine hits, including a homerun. 
The bullpen then combined to shut down the Marlins over the next six innings before Brian Falkenborg gave up a go-ahead homerun to Hanley Ramírez (who had five hits on the day) in the 11th.
Hitting wise, the Dodgers had some troubles. Their best sequence came in the 3rd, when Ángel Berroa got a one out single and was sacrificed over to second base. With two outs, Matt Kemp then singled him in. With Andre Ethier at the plate, Kemp stole second. Ethier then drove him in with a single. Ethier then stole second. Russell Martin then drove him in with a single. It was a good combination of hitting and running to plate three. Martin also had a solo homerun in the 6th. Other than those two instances, the Dodgers for the most part, were shut down.
It was a tough loss for the Dodgers, pushing them back into second place in the NL West, but they'll try again tomorrow at 7:10 L.A. time.
